What would you miss about this country if you emigrated?

Apart from family and friends?
Everything I used to like about it has gone.
Proper pubs and pub culture, West Ham, the music shops on Denmark Street. All gorn.
I might miss a decent PIE but that's about it I reckon.

When I lived in Singapore I missed...

Cold weather on Christmas Day (not right sitting by the pool on Decemeber 25th)

I'd miss whinging fucking Brits omplaining about every fucking thing.
In a hot country you just reach up and pick a banana. In the UK the fiest thing you do is whinge for at least 15 minutes. Then you have a bacon sarnie and a cup of builders.
This is sn experience that is uniquely British.

If you don’t get robbed on the streets of Hackney, you’ll get robbed in the coffee shops.
And the poor people haven’t gone away from those areas you mentioned, BRANDED.
They just see the influx of the posh twats and hipsters as more opportunities for thieving.

Pubs selling £6 pints of craft IPA and cafes selling similarly priced vegan smoothies and smashed avocado on organic feminist toasted ciabatta may not be "corporate" but they're no less cookie-cutter.

No they're not. They are a mix of people, businesses ( but lots of independents) and the polar opposite of shit corporate identikit suburbs and towns.

You'll love Arizona Lenny son.... only spent 5 days there but would love to go back... absolute breath of fresh air compared to next door Nevada... and it's bullet hole State signs

In my 12th year abroad I miss Crunchy Nut Cornflakes, London Pride, Mulligatawny soup - all things not available here.
Fuck all else...

Just spent ages reading all the comments for this post. Most interesting and entertaining. I actually emigrated to Australia as a Ten Pound Pom in late 1971 with my then girlfriend. Travelled a fair bit in those years too.
I would have to agree with many of the things people do miss or would if they emigrated. Such as the beautiful countryside and it's pubs, pie and mash shops, the history, going to watch the Hammers, a cold Christmas in the UK, snow in winter occasionally, the variety of TV entertainment, etc.
But generally not the weather (except for the lovely summer days when they do come), not the knife crime (though there never was much of that in my day), not the amount of immigration and seemingly halal food domination.
There's no doubt that London is an important multi cultural city. And it is a very popular tourist destination. However I do think that many Londoners seem to be still of the opinion that the empire is still alive and well. It's not. But at least the Commonwealth is a great legacy.
As for the soccer (oops, sorry, football), well the Premier League is absolutely wonderful. Fortunately I can watch it on TV quite cheaply here in Perth, WA. I even stay up to watch the Hammers 'live' until 1am our time. Woohoo! If not then I can watch nearly all the matches virtually 'live' the next morning by not checking the scores.
There'll always be an England, as Dame Vera Lynn would say in song, god bless her!
